Twenty-first century health challenges have significantly altered the expanding role and functions of public health professionals. While many public health professionals may have been in the field working in all areas of population health, it is estimated that over 80% of that workforce is not trained in public health.

The Mississippi Public Health Association (MPHA) has coordinated  a special two-day review course for up to 35 public health professionals across Mississippi to assist those directly interested in taking the Certified Public Health (CPH) Exam.  We have partnered with the National Board of Public Health Examiners and the Mississippi State Department of Health to promote this outstanding opportunity in Mississippi. This two-day exam review course will increase practitioners' knowledge about the content areas and increase their skills in how to apply them in practice.

This review course is intended for those who are eligible to sit for the CPH exam.   The priority target audience for this two-day exam review course is current public health practitioners, nurses, physicians, and health educators meeting one of the following criteria:

  • Public Health Professional (Bachelor's Degree in any field and five years of public health work experience)  OR
  • Student or alumni at a school or program of public health accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) or in CEPH applicant status.
