The Mississippi Public Health Association in conjunction with The County Health Ranking and Roadmaps, Gulf States Health Policy Center and  Mississippi State University Extension Service invite you to join us for our South Mississippi Public Health Symposium  entitled "Using Community-Level Data to Advance a Culture of Health."

This event will feature presentations by Dr. David Buys,  State Health Specialist with Mississippi State University Extension Service and Dr. Danielle Fastring, Assistant Professor with the Department of Public Health at the University of Southern Mississippi.

This collaborative programming will explore how to use the county health rankings data in your day-to-day work to improve the health of your community.  We plan an interactive group case study to demonstrate utilizing the data around public health issues on a local level.

The intended audience is a cross-section of public health practitioners, community leaders, educators and other non-profit professionals in south Mississippi.  The planned session is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. and registration is free.  Lunch will be provided and will feature a guest luncheon speaker(TBD).

The Hattiesburg Area Health Coalition Meeting will follow from 1:30- 2:00 PM

The session requires registration in advance and will be limited to 45 attendees.  For further information contact Kay Henry at henry_kay@comcast.net.
